WEST HEMPSTEAD - ? Officials say the West Nile virus has been discovered in Nassau County.
The county health department says the virus was found in mosquitoes in West Hempstead. Mosquitoes carrying the disease have also been discovered in Patchogue.
Meanwhile, Suffolk is planning to spray for West Nile mosquitoes. Crews will be ground spraying in Davis Park and Point O?Woods on Fire Island between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. tonight.
