WOODBURY - A winter storm warning is in effect for eastern Suffolk County through 1 p.m. Friday.

A winter weather advisory is also in effect for western Suffolk County and Nassau County through 6 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory through 6 p.m. Thursday with tides possibly 2 to 4 feet above normal.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Bill Korbel says Long Islanders can expect between 1 and 3 inches of snow tonight.

The second part of the storm is expected to kick up Thursday night into Friday, bringing a possible 4 to 8 inches in total.
