THE BRONX - The Yankees had two shots at home to get a leg-up in the American League Championship Series, but it turned out to be a wasted weekend. The Bronx Bombers are now down 0-2 in the series after they were shut out 3-0 by the Detroit Tigers last night. The turning point last night was a controversial play at second base when a Detroit player was called safe, though replays clearly showed he was out. The Tigers scored twice afterward to win the game. The Yankees are heading to Detroit for Game 3 tomorrow evening. They must win at least two more games to bring the ALCS back to Yankee Stadium.
