Wake held for Joseph Pritchard, NYPD officer killed on LIE

LINDENHURST - Family members, law enforcement colleagues and friends are saying goodbye to an NYPD officer from North Babylon killed in a crash on the Long Island Expressway.

Police say Joseph Pritchard, 30, was stopped on the LIE between exits 51 and 52 in Dix Hills early Monday morning when his pickup truck was rear-ended by a box truck.

Wake services were held today and will continue tomorrow at Lindenhurst Funeral Home.

Pritchard's funeral will be held on Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lindenhurst.
