VALLEY STREAM - Nassau Board of Elections Democratic Commissioner William Biamonte tells News 12 his office has received multiple voter intimidation complaints in the Valley Stream and Elmont area.
He claims Republicans had a so-called "challenge list" of voters to question their residency.
Republicans say their poll watchers were within their rights to question some voters and ask them to take an oath if there was a residency dispute.
Biamonte says the alleged intimidation stopped after the fight went in front of a judge.
“Right now, everything is going fine,” says Biamonte. “They have backed away from their challenge list and their intimidation at the polling places.”
Democrats say there were five major polling sites in the Valley Stream and Elmont area that seemed to be targeted.
