WOODBURY - The vote on a new Suffolk County police contract could be delayed. The Suffolk County Legislature is scheduled to vote on a $201 million contract today.
However, Newsday says the legislature's budget committee has canceled the meeting. The decision to cancel comes after the PBA and aides for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone were still discussing final terms. The PBA says it is about health care concessions.
Bellone says the new contract will save the county $43 million.
