LONG BEACH - People of all ages donned virtual-reality glasses and hopped behind "steering wheels" at the Long Beach boardwalk Sunday as part of a campaign to keep drivers safe.

"We're here to save lives" said spokesman C.J. Johnson. "People are distracted."

He relayed the story of a woman who died shortly after sending a text message while driving. 

AT&T helped put together the #ItCanWaitVR program.
