Some North Shore residents may have to be quicker with the pooper scooper or face steep fines.

According to Newsday, the Village of North Hills has a plan to fine dog owners up to $200 if they don't clean up their dog's mess promptly.

Officials say residents would even have to clean up their own property or face fines.

The first offense would be $50.
