HEMPSTEAD - A candlelight vigil was held tonight in Hempstead in memory of 34-year-old William Escobar, who was killed in a suspected drunken driver crash last night.

Police say 35-year-old Trevor McCribe was driving the wrong way down Greenwich Street when he collided with Escobar on his motorcycle.

Those in attendance not only remembered Escobar, but also tried to spread the message against drinking and driving.

Escobar's family says they will be hosting a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses at the Avanti Nightclub on Thursday at 10 p.m. in Westbury.
