MASTIC BEACH - Family, friends and complete strangers gathered Saturday night to remember a young Medford mother whose body was found dumped in the woods last month.
The vigil for 21-year-old Sarah Goode was held at Smith Point Park. Attendees spoke about the mother of one and what a kind person she was. They also spoke about the man accused of killing her, 19-year-old Dante Taylor, of Mastic.
Flowers were placed in the water and hundreds of people lit candles in remembrance of Goode.
Taylor was arraigned Saturday in Central Islip and pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder. Friends say they will be present at every court appearance moving forward to make sure Goode gets the justice she deserves.
