NORTH BAY SHORE - A man was fatally shot in North Bay Shore early Sunday morning.

Suffolk police say the 44-year-old victim was found with a gunshot wound at the corner of Heckscher Avenue and Prospect Place shortly after midnight.

Police have identified the victim as Marcelo Argueta Chicas, of Bay Shore.

The area's Shot Spotter gunshot detection system had picked up the gunfire.

 Police say no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
