Veterans Ryan Donnelly & Tina McGrory get free wedding from Westbury Chamber of Commerce

Former Marine Sgt. Ryan Donnelly and his now-wife, Tina, were married at the Viana Hotel Saturday afternoon. (March 16, 2013)

WESTBURY - Local businesses teamed up to donate a dream wedding to two war veterans whose journey has been anything but easy.

Wounded war veteran Ryan Donnelly married Tina McGrory, a fellow military veteran, this afternoon at the Viana Hotel in Westbury.

Donnelly took three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Purple Heart recipient lost his right leg above the knee when his Humvee hit a roadside bomb in Iraq back in 2005.

The couple won a free wedding reception through a contest sponsored by the Westbury Chamber of Commerce. Local business owners donated everything, from the dress and tuxedo to the rings and reception.

The newlyweds say they will take their free honeymoon to Aruba in June.
