MANHATTAN - ? The street vendor who helped thwart the Times Square car bomber is running for Congress. Duane Jackson alerted police about the May 2010 attempted car bombing in Times Square.
Jackson is now seeking the Democratic nomination in his home district in the Hudson Valley. Jackson, a Navy veteran, said he was inspired to run after a phone call from President Obama in 2010.
Faisal Shazad is serving a life sentence for the bombing attempt.
