SHIRLEY - A Shirley woman who was hit by a car while mowing her lawn Sunday has died.

Police say Valerie Fahie, 62, was mowing her lawn on Maple Avenue when she was struck.

According to police, Fahie stepped off the curb to turn the mower around and was hit by a passing car.

Fahie was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Fahie died yesterday.
