WESTBURY - Residents who live nowhere near the flood-ravaged coastal areas where Superstorm Sandy did the most damage are wondering why their electricity is still out. In Westbury, Sandy left her mark by knocking down trees and poles, but the destruction pales in comparison to areas like Long Beach and Lindenhurst. LIPA chief Michael Hervey announced today that 99 percent of customers who can have their power restored without repairs or electrical inspections will get it back by tomorrow. It's giving a glimmer of hope to residents who can't comprehend why they've been in the dark for a full two weeks.LIPANational Grid
