MASSAPEQUA - The Boston Marathon bombings have Long Islanders on edge, but fears were further heightened after two local schools were evacuated.
Unqua Elementary School in Massapequa was evacuated this morning after officials say they received a threatening phone call.
Ruth & Hyman Simon High School in Lawrence was evacuated, too, after a student allegedly posted to Facebook that he was going to bring explosives to the school. Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe says police were immediately called, and parents were notified. He says students were able to return to classes after about two hours.
