BELLMORE - ? Tactical field service units of the Nassau County Police Department conducted a training exercise utilizing department resources. The units would normally be deployed in circumstances ranging from barricaded emotionally disturbed persons to apprehending fugitives or terrorists.

The exercise commenced at 12:00 p.m. at 519 Briggs St. in Bellmore, which is a residential home slated for demolition.

The units involved included bureau of special operations, emergency service units, bomb squad, air bureau, hostage negotiations, patrol and canine unit.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano and Police Commissioner Krumpter observed the exercise.
