UNIONDALE - A 24-year-old Uniondale High School physical education teacher has joined the long list of Long Island professional fighters.

Uniondale native Aljamain Sterling recently won his UFC pro debut.

"The sky is the limit.  He’s still a work in progress," says trainer Ray Longo. "He is a super-talented kid with room to grow, and that’s always a great formula."

Sterling says he didn't have a lot of role models growing up, and he wants to show kids that they can go out and achieve their dreams.
