News 12 Long Island has learned some service on the railroad could come to a screeching halt before the strike deadline at 12:01 a.m. Sunday. (July 17, 2014 12:05 AM)

The MTA and Long Island Rail Road unions say they will continue communications throughout the night. Both parties will again meet face to face at the negotiation table Thursday at 10 a.m.

Union leader Anthony Simon did not elaborate on the particulars of Wednesday’s face-to-face meeting in Manhattan, but said that informal talks would continue throughout the night via Skype, phone and email.
