BANDA ACEH, INDONESIA - Tsunami warnings have been lifted after two massive earthquakes in Indonesia.People in Bangladesh and Thailand headed for higher ground, fearing that tsunami waves would flood the shoreline.

But experts say the back-to-back 8.6 and 8.2-magnitude quakes rocked sideways, which means they weren't the type of earthquakes that would trigger tsunamis. Nearly 230,000 people were killed in a 2004 tsunami triggered by a quake in Indonesia.
