LONG BEACH - Surfers are gearing up for some big waves this morning in Long Beach. Tropical Storm Leslie is creating swells that could be over eight to 10 feet.

Yesterday, surfers in Long Beach took advantage of the waves but no lifeguards were on duty.

Some water restrictions are in place because of the storm. Hither Hills State Park is still closed to swimmers but remains open to patrons. At Jones Beach, you can only go in waist deep at Field 6 and the Central Mall.At Robert Moses, you can only go in waist deep at Fields 2 and 5 and no boogie boarding at all.Sunken Meadow is still open to swimmers.
