MASSAPEQUA PARK - Police say a bicyclist was hospitalized this morning after a tree branch fell her at the Massapequa Preserve. According to authorities, the 77-year-old woman was riding along the bike path at around 8 a.m. when a limb snapped and landed on her. She was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital with a possible broken arm. Residents say similar accidents could be prevented if the county chopped down dead trees. Commissioner Carnell Foskey of the Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation and Museums says the county regularly maintains its preserves and will further review the property.
