LAGUARDIA AIRPORT - Travelers at local airports kept their fingers crossed throughout the day as they hoped their flights would depart before the latest snowstorm rolled in.

At LaGuardia Airport, many travelers were fairly confident their planes would leave on time and ahead of the storm.

Chris John said he was heading to Atlanta, where snow had already caused huge problems at the city's main airport. Others such as Natalie Schuler and her family said they were trying to get to Chicago and hoping for the best.
