Tractor-trailer catches fire in Bay Shore

BAY SHORE - A tractor-trailer burst into flames on Moffitt Boulevard in Bay Shore during the morning rush hour.

Chopper 12 was overhead at the scene at around 7 a.m. when the Mack truck became engulfed in flames and smoke just north of Montauk Highway.

A hazmat was called in to clean up a large amount of diesel fuel that leaked from the burning tractor-trailer. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the truck fire remains unknown.
