EAST SETAUKET - The Three Village Central School District is mourning the unexpected death of a seventh-grade student.

The district says Gabriella Beals-Reid, who attended P.J. Gelinas Junior High School, died Monday.

According to the district, the girl was rushed from the school to the hospital, but didn't survive. There is no word on what caused her death. 

Officials say they are extremely saddened by the heartbreaking news and extend their deepest condolences to the child's family.

Grief counselors were made available to students and staff.
