WOODBURY - The 145th Belmont Stakes takes place today in Elmont.

Officials say one thing to consider is how a muddy track may affect the race.

Belmont Stakes security officials say people should be aware that they will be allowed to bring clear plastic containers no bigger that the size of an average moving box.

The added security measures were put in place as an extra precaution, following April's Boston Marathon bombings.

Kentucky Derby winner Orb is a 3-1 favorite to win the last leg of this year's Triple Crown.

The race kicks off just after 6:30 p.m.
