BROOKLYN - Two Long Islanders are under arrest in a Hollywood-type mobster raid that took place earlier today.

Thomas 'Tommy D' DiFiore, of Commack, is one of five people who were arrested. DiFiore is allegedly the current leader of the Bonnano crime family. In addition, Jerome Asaro, of Bethpage, and his father Vincent Asaro, of Howard Beach, were taken into custody.

Officials claim Vincent Asaro, 78, who is believed to have had a character based on him in the movie "Goodfellas," had ties to the "Lufthansa Heist." The heist involved stealing millions in cash and jewelry.

Prosecutors have not said what role if any DiFiore had in the Lufthansa case. Meanwhile, Vincent Asaro is the first accused mobster to face charges in the heist.

All five men are facing a list of charges, including federal charges.
