Thief breaks into cars, steals items in Syosset

The incident occurred at a home on Loretta Drive at around 4:30 a.m. Apparently, the car doors were left unlocked.

SYOSSET - Surveillance video caught a thief who broke into three cars in a Syosset driveway Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at a home on Loretta Drive around 4:30 a.m. The car doors were apparently left unlocked.

The thief was able to steal an iPod from one of the vehicles.

Neighbors say several other cars on the block were also broken into Tuesday. They say holiday gifts were stolen.

Police have not yet made any arrests.

Anyone with information about the car break-ins is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
