Terminally ill woman agrees to designate father as health proxy

MANHASSET - A terminally ill woman who was disputing with her parents over her right-to-die has decided to designate her father as her health proxy. Attorneys for both sides told a state Supreme Court judge today Sungeun Grace Lee, 28, has agreed to the terms.

The proxy will only take effect if she becomes incapacitated and is unable to make health decisions for herself.

She is currently deemed competent.

Lee was diagnosed with a tumor on her brain stem last November. She was hospitalized last month.

Lee's parents lost two court decisions seeking to block her request to be taken off life support. She has since changed her mind and remains on a ventilator.

AP wires contributed to this report.
