HUNTINGTON - A teenager from Long Island who survived a grizzly bear attack in Alaska is expected to return home tomorrow.

A bear attacked seven teenagers taking a hike as part of wilderness training in the Talkeetna Mountains in Alaska Saturday.

The boys had been advised to play dead if they encountered a grizzly, but they say they panicked and ran.

A teen from Denver sustained the most serious injuries, but he is expected to survive. Newsday says 17-year-old Simeon Melman, of Huntington, administered first aid to the boys who were hurt.

Melman is set to leave Anchorage tomorrow.
