Teen pedestrian struck, killed in North Babylon

Police have identified the victim as Joseph Lozada, 19, of Babylon.

According to police, the unidentified man was struck by a car on Route 231, near Ellsworth Avenue around 3:50 a.m.

NORTH BABYLON - Police say one person has died after being struck by a car in North Babylon this morning.

Police have identified the victim as Joseph Lozada, 19, of Babylon.

According to police, a man was driving a car southbound on Route 231 near Pell Avenue at 3:53 a.m. when his vehicle struck a male pedestrian. Lozada was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
