Teen identified as Central Islip shooting victim

CENTRAL ISLIP - A 16-year-old male was identified as the victim killed during an early morning shooting in Central Islip.

Police say Jonathan Cardona-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene on Nicoll Avenue when officers arrived at around 5:50 a.m Tuesday.

Officials say they are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Homicide detectives are urging anyone with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
