Teen accused in Navy vet's stabbing death pleads not guilty

RIVERHEAD - ? The teen accused of stabbing a Navy veteran to death outside a Holbrook bar faced a judge today.A grand jury indicted Robert Gregory, 19, on one count of second-degree murder and one count of gang assault.

Gregory is accused in the stabbing death of Julian Pena. Police say Pena was killed in the parking lot of Momo's sports bar on Union Avenue.

Pena, a six-year Navy veteran of Operation Freedom, was stabbed when a fight broke out between two groups of people outside the bar, investigators say.In court today the prosecution said one witness identified Gregory as the person who stabbed Pena.

Gregory entered a not guilty plea and was ordered held without bail.Police have also arrested 28-year-old Ruben Rosario in connection to the attack and charged him with gang assault. Prosecutors say cops are looking for a third person, and several witnesses have come forward.
