Syosset school board president won't seek re-election

SYOSSET - Parents in the Syosset School District are scratching their heads after 20-year board member Dr. Marc Herman announced at Monday's board meeting he won't seek re-election.In a statement, school officials said Herman's decision is a result of increased responsibilities in his professional life.At that same meeting, one parent asked tough questions about a controversial robo-call that went out in advance of last month's school board elections. The robo-call was made in reference to Jeffrey Lafazan, the father of 18-year-old Josh Lafazan, who was elected to the board last month. The call accused Jeffrey Lafazan of stealing confidential election documents one day before voters went to the polls.Josh Lafazan says he's determined to find out who authorized that call.Teen wins seat on Syosset school board
