EAST MEADOW - The girlfriend of a Levittown man accused of attacking a Florida utility worker says her boyfriend did not start the fight.Thomas Libretto, of Levittown, was arrested yesterday after police say Libretto punched utility worker John Applewhite on Friday, breaking his jaw and nose. They tell News 12 Long Island that Libretto walked out of an East Meadow restaurant and saw Applewhite urinating near his BMW, prompting him to confront the utility worker.Authorities say Libretto attacked after Applewhite kicked gravel at the BMW.But Libretto's girlfriend says Applewhite started the fight when Libretto got out of his car to check for damage to his car.Police maintain that Libretto was the primary physical aggressor.
