BROOKLYN - The man suspected in a Brooklyn hit-and-run that killed a young family is expected to surrender.

Julio Acevedo has reportedly told a friend that he's meeting with a lawyer to arrange his surrender. He now claims he was speeding to get away from someone who had shot at him earlier.

Police say Acevedo was going 60 mph when he slammed into a livery cab, ultimately killing the young pregnant couple. Their son died shortly after being born.
