Survey ranks LIPA as worst utility in the U.S.

WOODBURY - LIPA has the lowest customer satisfaction rate of any utility company nationwide, according to a new survey.The power authority scored 552 points out of a possible 1,000 on a J.D. Power and Associates survey, making it the lowest-scoring out of 126 utilities nationwide. The survey analyzed factors like billing, customer service and reliability.Researchers say storms impacted satisfaction across the whole eastern region. Last week, the state's Public Service Commission released a report on LIPA's storm response that revealed the company's communications were inadequate.LIPA officials say they're disappointed with the results of the J.D.
