WOODBURY - Long Island had another brutally hot day as temperatures climbed to 93 degrees.

News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Bill Korbel says Friday will be hazy and humid with a high of 93.

There is also a chance for afternoon thunderstorms.

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano is extending the closing times of pools at Cantiague Park, Christopher Morley Park, Nickerson Beach, North Woodmere and Wantagh Park. They will be open until 8 p.m. through July 17

Town of North Hempstead Cooling Centers:
• Yes We Can Community Center in Westbury
• Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park
both of which will be open through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Port Washington Public Library, which will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Roslyn Community Center, which will be open Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
