WOODBURY - The battle against mosquitoes and the viruses that they can transmit, such as West Nile and Zika, has started in Suffolk County.

Crews started spraying salt marshes on Wednesday and will spray again on Thursday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. The spraying is meant to control mosquito larvae.

The marshes run from Babylon to East Hampton and from Smithtown to Southold.
