Suffolk residents sound off on unplowed side streets

CENTEREACH - Frustrated residents on unplowed side streets have been trapped in their homes since the snowstorm buried Suffolk County three days ago.

"I'm disappointed in this whole system," says Russell Magnussen. "The problem is no body gets back to you when you call anybody."

The storm blanketed some parts of Suffolk County with almost 30 inches of snow.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone say that county crews have been working to clear county roads.

"I can tell you in my 14 years, this is truly unprecedented," says Bellone. "Through blizzards, snow events, we've never had an event in which state assets were deployed to help local municipalities."
