RIVERHEAD - Suffolk County's Board of Elections has released the results from yesterday's primary elections following a computer malfunction.Officials said the glitch involving the "result transfer system? prevented them from releasing accurate vote totals last night.According to the preliminary results, Phil Cardinale defeated Gregory Fischer 80 percent to 19 percent in the Democratic primary to run for his old seat as Riverhead town supervisor against incumbent Republican Sean Walter. Some Suffolk County residents say the technical snafu during the primaries doesn?t bode well for the November elections.
