EAST NORTHPORT - Suffolk police executing a search warrant Wednesday night uncovered more than 100 pounds of marijuana at a Larkfield Road home, authorities said.

They charged Steven Chesebrough, 33, with criminal possession of the drug.

It marked the largest find since the department renewed its effort to crack down on drugs in the county last year, according to officials.

Along with the pot, police say they seized a loaded shotgun, ammunition and 120 envelops of wax -- a form of THC, the chemical producing the marijuana high.

Other seized items include money-counting machines, a computer, cellphones and a digital scale.

"This person is clearly a marijuana dealer, a wholesale dealer," said Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini. "We're talking about hundreds of pounds of marijuana."

Chesebrough is being held at the 2nd Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment Friday morning. Police say he may face additional charges in the future.

A woman answered the door at Chesebrough's home but did not wish to speak with News 12.

Workers at Tylili Cleaners next door say the arrest is unnerving, but they had not seen suspicious activity at the home.

Police say residents can report drug-related activity to the department's narcotics unit by calling 631-852-NARC.
