YAPHANK - Officials in Suffolk are pushing to crack down on energy drinks consumed by teenagers.

Suffolk lawmakers are looking at two bills. The first would prohibit drink manufacturers from marketing their product directly to anyone under age 18. Those who violate the bill would face fines up to $1,000.

The second bill would make it illegal for companies and concession stands to sell or distribute the drinks to minors at county parks.

The earliest both bills could be voted on is in two weeks.
