YAPHANK - ? There is a last ditch effort to approve the sale of Suffolk?s Foley Nursing Home and save jobs.

This Thursday, the Suffolk legislature will vote again on whether to sell the county-owned nursing home or close it.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy wants the facility sold to a private nursing home operator.

Levy says the move would preserve a lot of county jobs at the 264-bed complex.

If the sale is not approved, Levy says he will close the nursing home on April 1.
