SMITHTOWN - The Suffolk County Legislature has voted to approve the sale of the John J. Foley Skilled Nursing Facility to a private operator.

The Legislature voted 10-7 to approve the sale, with Legislator Ed Romaine abstaining from the vote because his wife is employed at the facility.

County Executive Steve Bellone (D-Suffolk) says he hopes to generate $23 million from the sale of the facility.
