WOODBURY - County Executive Steve Levy (R-Suffolk) is firing back tonight after an environmental group filed a lawsuit against the county.

The Long Island Pine Barrens Society claims Levy illegally raided a fund to protect drinking water and used the money to plug budget holes.

At a news conference today, Levy blasted the head of the group, Dick Amper, calling him a liar. He also said the county has done nothing wrong and that the lawsuit is baseless.

Amper claims Levy is the liar, saying "The fact is that Levy can't balance the budget and he won't tell the truth."
