BAY SHORE - A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information on a ball python found abandoned in Bay Shore.

The 2.5-foot ball python was found yesterday at the intersection of Longshore Street and Reilly Street.

The Suffolk County SPCA says the snake was in a glass container with a screen top taped on so it could not escape. It is not illegal to own one of the animals, but it is illegal to release it.
