SMITHTOWN - Lawmakers in Suffolk County have approved adding a Sunday bus service.

Legislator Jay Schneiderman, who sponsored the bill, says that the added service will only cost travelers 50 cents more than what they pay now.

Some residents are voicing concern that they could not afford the increased fares.

County Executive Steve Levy (R-Suffolk) said that the added service would actually cost riders a dollar more per ride and that he would only support the measure if funding came from state or federal sources and not from the riders.
