WOODBURY - A student is making similar allegations to a grieving father who is blaming his son’s suicide on fraternity hazing.

Marquise Braham, a college freshman at Penn State Altoona, committed suicide last week while home on spring break. His father believes fraternity hazing rituals led him to it.

The chief of police for Logan Township tells News 12 that a student has come forward with claims of hazing and drug use in Phi Sigma Kappa. News 12 has also learned that police in Pennsylvania are investigating the fraternity for alleged drug use. Penn State Altoona dean and chancellor Lori Bechtel-Wherry says the fraternity has been placed on suspension.

A friend says Braham told him stories of forced binge drinking, drug use and sexual activity in the fraternity. Braham’s loved ones believe he couldn’t live with the guilt of hurting others.

UPDATE 3/22: In our original story, we erroneously showed an address and pictures from the Phi Sigma Kappa State College chapter, which is NOT connected to Penn State Altoona, nor is it the chapter involved in the story.

We regret the error and apologize for the mistake.
