LAKE GROVE - Friday night's storm stranded drivers across Suffolk County.

Officials say about 40 cars were stranded on Route 347 in Lake Grove. They say EMS workers treated drivers and took them to a warming center at the Nesconset Fire Department.

Firefighters say the incident was triggered when a couple of cars got stuck, and other cars tried to move around them, getting stuck in the process.

There are no reported injuries, but many were very frightened.

Authorities say six fire departments helped out.
